A pinch of salt for a tasty meal, a bit of salt for a unique holiday experience! With more than a millennium of salt production, Nin Saltworks are so much more than just a salt factory. It’s a place where you can see ancient tools, a Roman gate, round 200 bird species, healing mud and find out fascinating facts about salt and its use not only in the kitchen but also in beauty and skin care. On August 3 visitors can further enjoy during Festival of Salt with competitions, entertainment, antique meals, creative workshops and even participate in harvesting salt by hand, just as it has been done for centuries.

Wine and dine in Nin! For the second time in a row, Nin hosts ViNIN, Festival of Wine and Delicacies, on August 9-11. Treat yourself to a slice of šokol and other authentic culinary delicacies from local farms and round it off with a glass of quality wine from Zadar region. The festival is a great chance to get to know the gastronomical tradition of the region in one place.
Its slogan says it all: ‘magic that happens and disappears’! Widely known for its a few kilometres long sandy beaches, Nin is the perfect place to celebrate art created in sand. These creations may be admired only temporarily before being washed or blown away, but their inspiring images cannot be forgotten. So, on August 12 head to Queen’s Beach or Ždrijac Beach in Nin, join in the unique art festival and have a great time.

No, it doesn’t happen on Valentine’s Day, but rather on August 18 in Nin. After all, the town was awarded the label ‘European Best Romantic Destination’ a few years ago. So, what can you look forward to apart from the world’s most beautiful sunset?
